If you are going to spend that much....Tigi makes an iron that is exactly the same as the Chi ones. Made by the same people, just has Tigi's name instead of Chi. It's called Hardcore. I bought it to use in my shop and I love it. I've used it on kinky curly hair and it made the hair bone straight. It's ceramic, and does minimum damage. And it was only 70. I have medium THICK hair and it's really wavy and frizzy, and it works perfectly!

It will be fine for you r hair. Just before you use the flat iron, use a heat activ spray. Even before you dry your hair out. Also use the lowest setting. You will fry your hair if you are not careful. Any ceramic flat iorn is safe.... Good Luck

You have to be very careful on these irons that say ceramic.

Ceramic is the best for your hair,but most inexpensive ones are only ceramic coated and it will wear off leaving you with a metal iron that will damage your hair. CHI makes the best iron in the business, but it isn't cheap. Retail starts about $130.00

The Paul Brown model you asked about is also an excellent choice.

Use a flat iron spray with your iron to protect and manage.
