I have thick hair and my shampoo stays in my hair after i wash it(residue)what can i do to take it o

my hair feels oily and dirty when it's dry..heavy and thick when it's wet..i tried washing my hair upside down, scurbbing it. I tried getting a new shampoo and it's doing the same thing. Im using sauve daily clarifying. Will baby shampoo work? if so, how and why (baby shampoo).

Put your hair into sections when shampooing and wash each section separately. It may work.

you may have to put out a little bit more money for a better shampoo like Pantene or Matrix. Your best bet is a salon formula, it's always light weight. A clear shampoo is always best, I personally don't use a clear one but it gets rid of the oil. You HAVE to use conditioner or your hair will always look dirty, the conditioner is what gives it the softness and shine, shampoo just cleans it. A lot of people don't use conditioner but it's great. Hope this helps.

It could be, that you're using to much shampoo and then it's not rinsed out properly, especially if you have thick hair.

try puting less shampoo in ur hair...enough to get through all of ur hair but not too much..over use of shampoo makes ur hair gressy look and feeling even if clea..i know this from my oqn eexperiance..what u should do is just make ur hair in dirrect dirrection of the water of ur shower...move ur head around after about 20 seconds so the water gets to all parts of ur hair..when ur done flipp ur hair down wards and put a towel and like scrub around ur hair with it to dry it off some..then let it naturally dry and it should be fine.. good luck=)

After shampooing and before conditioning, rinse your hair with a mixture of 1 part apple cider vinegar to 3 parts water. This cuts through any soap residue left on your hair, promotes a clean rinse, and helps restore the pH balance.

If your hair is blonde, substitute the vinegar for lemon juice.

you should go for a mild shampoo like matrix amplify. that is really good. it will wash through your hair in the shower very easily.

purchase clarifying shampoo, (not suave). over the counter shampoos have a lot of waxes and artificial fillers that are terrible for your hair. After you have clarified purchase professional shampoo and cond. you can always get a good deal on them usually 2 for $24(Paul Mitchell) or 2 for $20 bead head these shampoos are also concentrated so they work out cheaper than the over the counter(panteen, suave ect.)
