New funky hair ideas for thick long dark hair?

I have dark brown thick hair. Its pretty long, about 12 inches past my shoulders when its straight. I dont straighten it much cause its a hassel. I mostly leave it wavy. But i think its time for change, im really open to ideas. But i really wanna keep the length. Anyone have any cool suggestions on color or cut? I like my hair dark, but for other colors in it i dont mind at all.

You can get different colors, like lighter brown or red or anything basically and its less high maintenance because the streaks are underneath so no one can see your roots. =)
