How to make hair thick at top?

My is is generally thick, but i want something so that when i straighten it it has a lot of volume.

Should i blowdry it before of after i straighten, tie it up at night, towel dry..etc

Any suggestions? Oh, and i already know about back brushing :]

use products that add volume, u can get them anywhere

in addition to back combing try sectioning your hair (front to back) and using a medium hold hair spray directly at the root. After you spray it blow it dry. There also is a product called "rockstar" by BedHead that you use at your roots as you're blow drying and it also works well.

i think perfectly straight hair with no volume looks stringy so i use one of or multiple of these techniques everytime i straighten

best of luck

There is a mouse by pantene that is volumizing and after you straghten your hair just run some of that on the top of your hair they have it at wal-mart.

Wash your hair and only use conditioner on the bottom half of your hair (past your ears.) Dry your hair a little with a towel so it is still damp and use root boosting spray on your roots in your part, and also spray it (or use a volumizing mousse) on the roots right at the length of your hair around your ears all the way around your head. Then blow dry upside down and with a round brush. After it's dry, straighten it and then backcomb your hair near the roots and hair spray it then backcomb again in sections of about 1 inch. Scrunch the top of your hair through out the day to keep it goin.
