Will long layers make my hair look less thick?

I was going to get it thinned with shears but a friend of mine told me that when you do that and your hair grows it actually gets more thick and looks really frizzy. So will long layers make it look not so thick?

I have medium length curly hair if that helps at all.

Professionally I texturize curly wavy hair very differently than straight hair and not with a thinning shear. Find a good stylist who is good with curly hair. Generally I will layer your type of hair stacking up from the bottom, not trickling down from the top. You can always book a consultation prior to the actual cut and see what they have to say. Best of luck.

Yes it will give it Style and it wont make your hair thick one bit!

well i think that short layers will not make you very frizzy, but definatly a thick haired look. i think you should get longer layers. it would look better if you want to thin down your hair

If you get it thinned, make sure the stylist thins it underneath the hair. Long layers will help, but short layers will thin it out more.

If you get it thinned it will probably just be wavy. If you try to put your hair up though it will get a little frizzy.
