Iam an Indian women in early 30s having a happy marital life with my husband with a 5 year son. I have always shaved my underarm hair ever since it started growing. Recently I didnot shave my armpit hair for a few months because of some blisters due to heat. Ever since he saw my thick tuft of under arm hair my husband sweetly insists I dont shave them even after the blisters are gone since he says it really excites him and seems to go crazy over it. Iam hesitant to say no to him since this hair seems to have taken him back to newly married days and spends almost twice the time with me, both outings and indoor intimacies. Iam not able to wear sleeveless clothes to office, which are comfortable in summer, because of this. Of late, he persuades me to wear sleeveless clothes during weekend outings which I find a bit embarassing with the stares my underarm hair draws from people around, men in particular, but he thinks it really looks sexy. Iam confused. How do I deal with this situation?

Well, your husband has some sort of weird fetish towards your underarm hair. It might remind him of another "place" that excites him. This is something that really is exciting him, yet it embarrasses you because it is not socially acceptable where you live. Are you planning on shaving it anytime soon? It is something that can always grow back. I would tell him that the armpit hair can be a "winter bedroom" treat, but in the summertime you will shave it. Besides, why would he want other people looking at the thing that "excites" him?

That is nice that he likes it- but as a ladie I would want to be clean shaved. If you want to keep him turned on and you like it- then just wear longer tops-- so it stays just between the two of you.

This is just me,but I would never grow my underarm hair out for anyone.I think it's just gross. I totally understand the problem you have with the blisters though. Do what makes YOU happy.

i. Having long under-arm hair is not unhygenic. Just make sure that you wash it properly and deodorise.

ii. Armpit hair has been a fashion statement many times over in different countries and, it goes beyond that, it has been seen as incredibly sexy on females! Think of French and Greek history in regard to fashion - even modernised, western societies have given it a go (recent celebrity, Julia Roberts).

iii. If your armpit hair embarrasses you, then I'd keep it as a winter-time "look" for your hubby. It's nice of you to please him, but it's unfair of him to expect you to parade around with long hair in places you'd rather not have it growing.
