i've straightened it but it takes over 2 hours. i always scrunch it. i was thinking about doing waves but i have no idea on how to do it. my hair is black and very thick. help.

you could get a lose perm. i know you hear perm and say hell no.. but my friend got a lose perm and puts mousse/gel in it, and it looks like beach wavy hair. youd never know it was perm

i have extremley thick hair also. to get waves do this:

have your hair dry naturally, and when its completley dry. put it in a LOW ballet bun, (ballet bun=put hair all together and twist it and put it around and around in a bun) and keep it in for an hour. and then take it out. i guarentee waves.

my hair is just the same way and what i do is w/ it is straigten AND scrunch it which is how i get waves in my hair then i guess you could live it down or i put it in a messy bun ppl w/ thick hair can tottaly make the messy bun look perfect!!
